HPCL summer recap
COVID-19 has put pause on many things since March, however, we wanted to recap a few things HPCL did in our community during these unique times:
Annual Big Bin event (June)
- over 8 full containers were collected and hauled away
- money was raised from the bottle drive for Johnny Bright School
- over $ 2500 was raised for Edmonton Food Bank
Crime Prevention Session (June)
- over 15 people attended the on-line session where Edmonton Police Service and City of Edmonton Community Safety Liaison provided information on crime prevention through environmental design
Canada Day (July)
- over 100 community members came out on a wet and rainy day to receive free packages of cookies and cupcakes from HPCL Board members at our Canada Day pop-up surprise
- flash mob sidewalk chalk decorating
- HPCL partnered with Sobeys (Southbrook) to offer BBQ food packages with the option of special rate membership purchase
Community Outdoor Soccer (July/August)
- HPCL is grateful to the coaches who volunteered their time to support the outdoor community soccer program! Without you, this wouldn’t have happened
Water bottle drive (August)
- collected over 3600 bottles which were donated to assist the Boyle Street Co-op
